Just a little humour to make you smile today!

Well, here in Manitoba, the sun is shining and it's a gorgeous day.  STILL no snow on the ground but reports are saying that we will be seeing some fairly soon!

At Tiny TreeHugger we are clearing out our Thirsties All In One diapers.  We have a limited quantity available, so get yours while you can.  They retail for $19.50 and are now $15.75, savings of $3.75!  They are being discontinued by Thirsties and to replace them is the New Duo Diaper!  We have already ordered ours and they will be on the way shortly.  I can't wait to try it out!

Make sure you also sign up for our newsletter (on the lower left side bar on our home page).  Have a great week!

Oh NO! Anyone notice that last blog post date? I am so very deeply ashamed. That should NOT happen! I think it's Pam's fault. Not saying which one ;)

Do you read here at all? If so, we want to hear what you have to say. We wouldn't BE here without you!

You are what DRIVES us.

We are here to help, to answer questions. Maybe to giveaway things too?

Pardon? What was that? Did I just say the magic word? Is that what is going to take for comments here or more Facebook FANS? I LOVE seeing the number get higher and higher with the new fans... so maybe a prize in the future that is geared towards YOU (because I am sure that there are some people OUT of diapers that check in on us).

Pam C and I have some super awesome things going on behind the scenes at Tiny TreeHugger. We are getting a test drive package finalized and ready to put up. Do you have any name suggestions? Check out our Facebook Fan Page and add your suggestions!
We are clearing out the final few WAHMies and Rocky Mountain Diapers to make way for the next order of them that come with inserts! Our in stock ones do not currently include them.

Have you heard of Fuzzi Bunz's rewards program ending Friday? Not so much a secret, so read about it HERE and email us with your pre-order request, as we do not have any in stock but that will change after we make our order this weekend!

What else do you want to know?
How many diapers Pam C or I (Pam J) have in our stash? What do we reach for? How we wash? Well or town water? How often? Who makes the Sister Bags? And are they related to the Sling Sisters? (not at all actually!)

Maybe there are many other questions you want to know, so ask them! Go ahead, give it your all!! We are ready...

and for your viewing pleasure, a picture! to make this much less boring :) here is a WAHMies and Thirsties in action...

D-d-d-duo Wrap . . . !

It is the announcement I have been waiting for!!

Thirsties Duo Wraps are now in stock! I am so excited about these!! Not only are they a partner in one of the most cost effective diapering systems, they come in only two sizes that will fit from birth to potty. Which means, less sizes to go through and buy. I personally like using these with prefolds with my 5 month old, but my 2 year old wears these with fitteds. And guess what? They BOTH wear size 2! They come in some great colors too:
(My favorite is Meadow, Pam C's too I believe!)

Right now they cost only $15 each, but if you buy 6 or more you get 5% off! And if a birthday, special occasion, or 'just because' is coming up we now offer Gift Certificates! I don't like to mention how close it is in the warmer months but Christmas is just around the corner too :)

What's on your wishlist?!?

Cloth diapering at the cottage

My (Pam C's) family has been spending some time at my parents' cottage this summer, and I thought I'd share with you about cloth diapering while away from home for a night or two.

The first weekend (which actually was only 1 night, due to bad weather) we went, I only brought along disposables since I thought it would be too much of a hassle to bring and use the cloth diapers. At the end of the weekend, while packing up a bag of smelly, used disposable diapers (we have to take all garbage out with us), I realized that I would be taking home the same bag of diapers, regardless of whether they were cloth or not (perhaps this should've occured to me earlier!).

The next weekend was a long weekend - 3 days and nights. I was determined to bring along my cloth diapers, but I wasn't sure I'd have enough for the whole time. At home, I usually wash diapers every 3 days or so. So I was prepared to bring some disposables and all my cloth diapers. However, with everything else I had to get ready to go, the diapers didn't all get washed in time, and I only ended up bringing along about a days worth of cloth. However, I found that using them at the lake was no different than using them at home (except the poop was dumped in the outhouse, instead of the toilet!). I put the dirty diapers in my AppleCheeks Size 2 storage sac, and it worked wonderfully for keeping the mess and smell in. We (my husband and I, and our daughter) were all sleeping in the same room, and I never noticed a smell from the diaper bag.

Last time we were out it was for a regular weekend. I planned a little better this time, and washed the cloth diapers the night before so they were all ready to go. However, I did put my daughter in disposables during the day we were planning to leave, so that all the cloth would be clean to take along. I guess unless you have an enormous stash, you may have to make compromises here and there. I packed all the cloth diapers in a reusable grocery bag, and the one extra bag didn't seem to make a lot of difference (at least when it seems like you're already bringing along everything but the kitchen sink!). Perhaps if you're flying somewhere for a vacation and have limited luggage space, it may be more difficult, but for our little outings it worked fine.

It may seem intimidating at first to use your cloth diapers away from home, but after a few tries, you may find that it's not so different from using them at home.

Welcome to Tiny TreeHugger!

Hi, my name is Pam Doerksen. And my name is Pam Doerksen. What?? That’s right, we both have the same name (no relation, though). So, around here you’ll hear us refer to ourselves as Pam J and Pam C, which are our middle initials. But our names aren’t the only thing we have in common. We both have a love of cloth diapers, and a desire to work from home while raising our kids. So, after much dreaming, and many work/play dates (work for us, play for our kids!), we are pleased to bring you Tiny TreeHugger. We hope you find the products you are looking for, as well as the support you need as a cloth-diapering parent! Be sure to check our website - http://www.tinytreehuggerdiapers.com/ often, as we hope to have it up and running very soon! Thanks for stopping by!
