Streamlining

Here at Tiny TreeHugger, we strive to have plenty of diapers in stock, as well as a wide selection of brands and types of diapers for you to choose from.  However, it isn't always possible to do both, and so we will be streamlining our selection slightly.  We've been in business for about a year now, and we've discovered what's popular and what's not so popular.  So, in the hopes of being able to bring you more of the diapers you love, we've decided to stop stocking 2 diapers - the Knickernappies One Size diaper, and the Happy Heinys One Size diaper (both the aplix and snap closures).  Our current stock of both diapers is now 10% off, so now is your chance to grab the last few of these diapers at a great deal (the Happy Heinys snap closures are already sold out though).  Both of these diapers will be available for purchase in the future by special order, but we will require a pre-paid order of at least 6 diapers (which coincidentally qualifies you for our 5% discount!), and they will take about 3-4 weeks to arrive.

We want to make our customers happy - if you think we should continue to stock these diapers, let us know!!  If we find that there is a greater demand for them, we will certainly bring them back.

June2010

Is it summer time now? Sure feels like it here!  Although it is hard to get used to loving my boys playing in the dirt. We have no grass yet. Just dirt and TONNES of mud after the rains we have had lately. Not something to complain about because after almost 7 long months of renting a dive, we are now in our half completed home that my husband spent so many hours on!  We feel very blessed to have the opportunity to do this. It is quite an adventure.

If you aren't 'connected' to us via facebook or twitter, then I will try to keep you up to date on what is going on around here!  (Especially since I haven't sent out a newsletter lately...)  On the way we have more unbleached infant and premium sized prefolds, also Thirsties NEW Duo Hemp Prefolds!  I absolutely LOVE the feel of their new hemp. It is custom made especially for Thirsties and 25% more absorbent then other prefolds and very trim too!  I don't have too many of these yet in my own personal stash but let me tell you - after wash day is done this is the first one I grab and it is paired great with a duo wrap...

Also get your AMP preorder in to us before Friday! We are placing an order then. You will get 15% off your preorder. What a DEAL!! Email us if we don't have what you are looking for on our site...

Ok enough fluff talk!  I want to see if anyone has used the Pampers Dry Max at all?  (It's okay to admit it! Even we use disposables and have them on hand 'just in case.') There has been much controversy about them, and about Pampers bashing the use of cloth diapers too! This is what pampers.com's headline said "Pampers Is Committed To Your Baby's Health, Happiness, and Safety."  It still won't convince me, especially when there are so many reports about rashes and bum burns!

Even Huggies are coming out with a patterned diaper that looks like a pair of jean shorts. If you ask me, they are trying to add the cuteness factor just like cloth diapers too!  I wonder when they will come out with a washable one too?  Hmmmm...

That's all my thoughts today! What do you think? Do pictures make a post more exciting?  Next time I will add some for some visual eye candy too :)

Stay tuned for Local Drop In Morning dates and something you ALL love - FREE STUFF... because birthdays need to be celebrated!!

B3G1 - Canadian Made Baby Kangas

Come and check out the Buy 3 Get 1 Free Event with Baby Kangas!  Enter the code 'freekanga' in the discount field and get the amount of $17.95 off your order.  For higher quantities in multiples of 4 we will refund you back after your order goes through.

These are a great one size pocket diaper with a zipper enclosure in front, unlike any other pocket that I have seen!  And it is Canadian Made.  Even better!  The best fit is from 10 to 35 pounds.  I have even used them with my potty training pre-schooler as 'trainers' without an insert.

Free diapers!!  It's like music to my ears!  What are you waiting for?

New and not so...

There are new things happening around here!  It's spring, don't you feel it?  Well, for all of April, we definitely felt it, but now it is raining out (although MUCH needed...).  And a tad better then the snow we hear some Albertans were getting lately!

We like to feel the comment love so feel free to comment and let us know what you are thinking!

With the new-ness of spring comes new products we are carrying!  Some from the same companies, and more companies added to our lines as well. Check out the New! link on the homepage to see what is happening...

We LOVE supporting local companies and have finally added Winnipeg's own AMP Diapers to our list of products!  Right now we only have the One Size Duo Diapers, with hemp and bamboo inserts.  Back when my almost 3 year old was just a wee one, the AMP hemp insert was the first hemp insert I ever tried!  It's hard to believe it was just that long ago...

A part of the cloth diaper craze that has definitely interested me is the array of beautiful prints that come out!  Thirsties just introduced the Duo Wrap (with Aplix {aka Velcro}, and also Snaps now!) in some very very very cute prints!  Which one is your favorite?
We have heard of a few people's plans for the summer and would love to hear yours!  S tells us she is taking her little sweat pea to the cottage for a few weeks and has already looked into somewhere to wash her diapers.  Great idea and planning ahead!!

Camping trips also make it possible too!  Especially 2-3 days away.  That is how long we go between washes anyways but for some you may need to bring your whole stash or even get a few extra prefolds or inserts (we recommend hemp or bamboo, and suggest that you don't put microfiber against a baby's skin) that can fold to fit into any pocket diaper or diaper cover!

Have your larger pail liner sitting in the car or tent/camper and during the day just put soiled diapers/inserts into a travel wetbag. Don't forget your swim diaper that you can hang to dry between trips to the beach or pool! As seen below, even Wubbanubs make it to the beach ;)  This lil boy is turning THREE on Monday. Oh how time flies...

Hope to hear more from us, and we hope to hear more from YOU!  Thanks for sticking around.

P.S. Are you on Facebook?  I am REALLY itching to do a giveaway soon - VERY soon, and once we hit 300 'likers' (formerly known as fans!) we will giveaway a gift certificate to our store! If you comment here you can increase your chances by getting another entry.  Also, once we reach 50 followers on this blog we will giveaway MORE. Now go follow... and like... ;) and we will see you soon. And I just added a feedburner badge to the blog so you can sign up for email updates when we post!!

A new do!

Pam C has been getting a little crafty and started making her own hair clips - known as TTH Ribbon Lined Hair Clips and TTH Tuxedo Bow Hair Clips!  I think she has even more up her sleeve, but you'll have to wait and see until she announces them in store and on our facebook fan page.

We knew the perfect tester for the clips (which also include a free option for non-slip grip!).  Our little friend Sydney has short super fine hair.  She is two and a half now and for a while her mamma Mel (aka mbm) and her have been quite the hat ladies, mostly because Mel can't keep anything in Syd's hair.  Perhaps we have changed that! She does look pretty cute in a hat though :)

Sydney now sports a TTH Ribbon Lined Clip, and it STAYS in her hair!  Now when Mel asks her if she wants a hat or a hair-do, I wonder what she will prefer?

This is what Mel says: "I love the fact that it stays in place in her fine hair, and it's uber cute as well!"

Now how am I going to put these gorgeous clips to use if I have three boys?
